PhD Thesis Help

A PhD thesis is not just a document. It is not just a piece of substantiation that you have truly done something during the years hiding in your lab. It is not even the major goal of the degree. It is much more than that. This article will help you writing a detailed PhD Thesis.

There are number of steps that have to be followed writing thesis and before writing thesis.

Getting Started

Writing thesis is a long and complicated task. Thesis writing generally seems nastiest before you begin, so let us take a look at how you should make a start.

STEP 1  An outline

Initially make up a thesis outline. Pages containing chapter headings, sub-headings, a few figure titles and maybe some other notes and comments etc.

STEP 2  Organization

Organization of things related to back up and restore back up should be there.

STEP 3  A note about word processors

You should have an idea about any word processor, if you are preparing an electronic thesis.

STEP 4  A Timetable

A work time table should be made. For example, a list of dates, for when you will provide the first and second draft of each chapter to your adviser/examiner.

STEP 5   Iterative solution

Prior to submitting a draft to your adviser/examiner, run a spell check so that he/she does not waste time on that. If you have any typical grammatical failings, test for them.

Now the question arises – What is a thesis? For whom is it written? How should it be written?

Your thesis is a research report. The report is fretful about a problem or series of problems in your area of research.  It should explain what was known about it formerly, what you did towards solving it, what you think your results mean, and where or how additional progress in the field can be made.

Obviously your examiners will read the thesis. They will be experts in the general field of your thesis.

Your thesis will be used as a scientific report. It is checked by workers in the laboratory. They may want to know about the details you did.

Points to be kept in mind while writing

  • How much detail?
